Mana

In the Hawaiian language Mana can be translated to a concept of an impersonal force or quality that resides in people, animals, and inanimate objects. It can also be translated to the power or energy something, some place, or person radiates. Growing up I was always drawn to the Mana of the Big Island.

My daily routine includes running or cycling on Mana Road. Its a back country road that stretches for miles and miles. You can literally cycle, run, hike, walk for 40 miles to Mauna Kea…The views are astounding, nothing around except silence, the wind, sheep, cows and horses. It’s an amazing reminder how much our spirits appreciate and relish this level of deep quiet. To be able to be present in a space that is devoid of clutter – noise, people, cars, pollution, is in itself overwhelming. I find myself at times, just overcome with so much emotion because of the gratitude for the profound peace. I happily share some beautiful sights of Mana Road with you.
